Remote Control Gifts for Dad & Kids

You look at the calendar and begin to panic. You forgot about Dad's birthday which is coming up in only one week.  The guilt sets in as you realize you do not have a gift for this hard-to-by for guy.

If this scenario sounds familiar to you, you're not alone. Coming up with a unique gift idea for that special Dad in your life year after year is a lot of pressure. Walking the aisles of the shopping malls seems like a lost cause, though, because the standard similar-looking ties, cuff links or cologne just won't cut it again.

Consider this year, then, a gift that could be the catalyst for creating special memories for Dad and his son and/or daughter. As a guy approaching 40, I still recall my Father and me playing with my first remote and radio-controlled helicopter when I was 14. A few years later, we got a brand new remote-control car for my birthday. That was one of the coolest gifts I ever received. My Dad and I would set up races and take turns trying to beat each other's time around the course. Remote-controlled toys will bring out the child in any Dad and excite a kid like nothing else.

Gift ideas run the gamut from remote and radio-controlled airplanes, helicopters, and race cars to boats and even blimps. If Dad or child is a NASCAR fan, you can purchase a Dale Earnhardt 1:10th replica remote-controlled Excalibur car. Or if Dad is into something with more speed, how about getting him a Hammer racing remote-controlled vehicle, which can reach speeds of up to 55mph. If Dad or child is an aviation enthusiast, purchase them a remote-controlled helicopter, which will allow them to work together on mastering their copter skills.

Remote and radio-controlled toys are just one example of Father-Child gifts, but hopefully it will get you thinking outside the box. Bring a smile to Dad and child this year with a thoughtful, unique gift that they can enjoy together!
